Public Cruises

When

The first Saturday of each month, the public is invited to join the dedicated crew of the R.V. Karma on a 2½-hour coastal discovery cruise.

Public cruises depart from Matagorda Harbor.

Program

While onboard, guests are introduced to the environmental, economic and social dimensions of the Texas coast which make it such an intriguing and dynamic part of our nation. Public cruises are an abbreviated version of the Karma's Educational Program provided year-round by marine educators from the Texas Sea Grant College Program and Texas Cooperative Extension.

 

Reservations

Walk-ons are welcome if space is available. However, reservations are strongly recommended for all public cruises.

Group Cruises for Businesses and Families

Businesses, organizations, or family groups can schedule a cruise aboard the Karma for a fee of $500. Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Excluding official Texas A&M University holidays, the Floating Classroom Program operates year-round Monday through Saturday. You can check the calendar for open dates.
